b19 Consulting is Hiring a Project Manager Near Austin, TX

b19 Consulting is working with an established power delivery company to find a technical Substation Project Manager that has IOU consulting experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategizing, budgeting, and attaining critical project objectives.
  • Ensuring overall project success encompassing safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Managing engineering projects comprehensively from inception to conclusion, including aspects such as siting, permitting, planning, bid phase services, procurement, constructability reviews, and material management.
  • Collaborating closely with the Project Team to ensure client satisfaction regarding deliverables and services, coordinating with team members across different regional and branch offices.
  • Proactively identifying project opportunities, facilitating go/no-go decisions, determining project fees, drafting proposals, conducting and leading client presentations, and negotiating contracts.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of business plans, actively contributing to proposal efforts for sustainable growth.
  • Demonstrating foresight, creativity, and sound judgment in anticipating and resolving problems.
  • Managing internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, and risk management.
  • Establishing and implementing project policies and procedures, reinforcing project control systems.
  • Providing regular updates on progress, costs, profitability, schedule adherence, design queries, project risks, and any issues requiring intervention.

Additional duties for the Project Manager may include:

  • Serving as a local key client contact for account management in the region.
  • Conducting quality reviews for substation design projects (physical or P&C) as necessary.
  • Offering feedback on staff performance to the Department Manager and assisting in aligning project opportunities with staff development objectives.
  • Collaborating with other Project Managers across regional and branch offices, mentoring Project Managers in Training (PMITs).
  • Contributing to staff recruitment, development, and retention, mentoring employees to facilitate divisional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
  • Proficiency in thoughtfully influencing, leading, and managing change, along with strong project management skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept interpersonal abilities, and the capability to articulate complex information effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Flexibility for travel and possession of a valid driver's license, meeting the Company's standards for vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Motor Vehicle Safety Poli
